Welcome
We
are a Church of England parish with churches in the two villages
of Blean and Tyler Hill which lie in ancient Kent woodland
between the cathedral city of Canterbury and the seaside town
of Whitstable.
We
describe ourselves as an ‘Open
Door’ parish: our newsletter carries
that title. We welcome everyone - Christians
of all denominations and others who want
to begin to explore the idea of faith
- to come and worship with us, and we
encourage everyone we come in contact
with to open the doors of their hearts
to the love of God
We
think the Living
Church part of our site is the most
important. We have made a commitment
to develop our work for God in four areas:
worship, pastoral care, education, and
outreach and mission, and you can find
out more about how we are trying to live
the life we believe Jesus wants us to
by clicking into that section.
We
know that people will come to – or
come across – our website for a
variety of reasons.
Some
of you will be interested in the history
of our churches, and others interested
in our patron saints, Cosmus and Damian,
and Francis of Assissi. You can find
out more in the Parish
History part of the site.
Others
will want to know about our services
and activities, including the arrangements
for baptisms, marriages and funerals,
and the section headed The
Parish Today is there to help you.
If you want to get more of an in-depth
picture of a slice of our parish life,
have a look at our Special Events area.
Whatever
you want from the site, we hope you will
find it here, and you are, of course,
welcome to Contact
Us. We ask you to say a prayer for
us as we will do for you as one of our
many visitors.
Our
services are as follows: 8am said Holy
Communion, 10am Parish Eucharist and
the
monthly
Evensong at 6.15pm.
Our
Ordained local minister is Grahame Whittlesea.
