Who are we ?

Blean Church

located between the villages of Blean and Tyler Hill

We are a Church of England parish with churches in the two villages of Blean and Tyler Hill which lie in ancient Kent woodland between the cathedral city of Canterbury and the seaside town of Whitstable.

We describe ourselves as an ‘Open Door’ parish: We welcome everyone - Christians of all denominations and others who want to begin to explore the idea of faith - to come and worship with us, and we encourage everyone we come in contact with to open the doors of their hearts to the love of God.

Our services on Sunday are as follows:

       8.00am            Said Holy Communion [except 2nd Sunday of the month],

     10.00am            Parish Eucharist and the Junior Church [5yrs - 11yrs]

       6.15pm            Evensong [first Sunday of the month]

Our church is open every day from 9.00am until 5pm

As part of our parish we also conduct a monthly service at St Francis of Assisi in Tyler Hill, this a Holy Communion [said] service at 8.30am on the second Sunday of every month.

Our minister

Revd Dr Stephen Laird, who with his wife Jo and young son Theo joined us during the summer 2009.

Stephen, aided by our Ministry Leadership team, conduct the various services that are offered by the church throughout the year.
